It has been decided that NORCOM will provide consulting services for systematic completion (commissioning) for KR’s new 6,700 m² multi-purpose sports hall in the Vesturbær district of Reykjavík. The building will include an artificial turf field, smaller sports facilities, office space, and other areas related to the building’s activities.
The project is expected to be completed in 2027. NORCOM will provide consulting and supervision of the building’s technical systems, which will be of the highest standard and will provide athletes and spectators with a great experience.
Once again, the Environment and Planning Department of the City of Reykjavík has entrusted NORCOM with the responsibility of improving outcomes in complex construction projects by applying systematic completion (commissioning) methodology. It is admirable to dare to do things differently, and we at NORCOM believe it is only a matter of time before commissioning becomes standard practice in all public projects in Iceland.
